Open call for our “ReUrbanism” Exhibit is now open!

Submission Guidelines below:

To celebrate Design Week 2019, our annual celebration of all things design in our community, The Center for Architecture and Design plans to explore ReUrbanism in its exhibit, Restore, ReUse, Renew, Rejuvenate, and Revitalize, Etc., and we need your help.

We are looking for initiatives/ideas that pave the way for inclusive, strong, resilient cities and urban cores of the future, where, according to the National Trust for Historic Preservation, 80 percent of us in the United States are choosing to live, work and play. We want to hear from you about any re-urbanism initiatives you have done or are planning in the future.

Adaptive reuse. Preservation. Social justice. Sustainability. Renovation. Re-Assembling. Please share with us what are you working on by August 12th, 2019, along with your idea for displaying it in our exhibit – models, photography or other graphic materials you have. Work submitted must be available for exhibition. Projects do not have to be central Ohio-based. Our goal is to share the best ideas from wherever they come.

“When we lose blocks and buildings, we replace much of a city’s vitality and character with sterility, anonymity, and the kind of gentrification that prices out the very people who yearn to write the next chapters of America’s urban greatness.” National Trust for Historic Preservation from its 10 Principles of ReUrbanism.

Our exhibit committee will select up to six projects to display during October-November 2019 at The Center.

Questions? Please email us at . We look forward to hearing from you.
